If you're left handed this must be a treat compared to other guns. And I couldn't agree more about the accuracy. Of course a well tuned, modern built ak will be more accurate, but when talking about vz.58 made in the 50's and 60's and Soviet surplus AK's, the vz is the clear winer.
Ordered a handful of kits last night, could be a fun project. Less rivets and special tools than an AK but more involved than slapping together an AR. Apex still has tons of kits with the 15.5 barrel, thinking I will pin and weld a thread adapter to 5/8 on the front to get to the 16" length. No sense spending a stamp for 1/2".

It fits the Czech front sight better than the AK tool that I have. In a pinch the windage can be adjusted with a C-clamp, a piece of wood with a hole in it and a small brass nut or whatever.

This VZ 58 has a milled steel receiver, but, according to the folks at CZ-USA, it's actually about one pound lighter than an AK-47, which has a stamped receiver. Both the VZ 58's receiver and additional metal parts are well-finished and blued to a military blue/black color.
In order of the trash can tier of AK's it's PSA, Zastava, Pioneer Arms, Century, best to trash canniest of current offerings. WASR, MAK 90 straight cut, AMD/Hungarian, Arsenal, among others all on the 2nd hand market will be better offerings The I.O. and DDI guns are still out there if you want AK shaped grenades too.
Just picked up my VZ-58 today from my FFL. I ordered if from Centerfire. I originally believed that these are imported by CZ-USA, but the import mark under the barrel reads "TGI KNOX TN". The rifle is hi-cap and it takes 30 rounders and it looks exactly as the one advertised by CZ-USA. The markings on the left side of the rear side block read:
Well, for all AK type guns they're imported as a single stack, and then the importer mills out the receiver to accept double stack magazines. Vz58 magazines are proprietary and regular AK magazines won't work. Save yourself the money and buy a regular AK. You won't regret it.

Certainly, but not a chop job - CzechpointUSA has sold the vz-58 pistols for years. Buy one, (much higher quality than the Century reworks), and SBR it. Yep. Had the front sight welded to the gas block. Gas port does have to be opened up. Going by memory, but think the barrel length is 10". Yep.
