Just had vw local dealer service my 2017 gti PP, (UK model) they filled engine with shell LL 0W-30, I was surprised as it has previously always had ll 5w-30 either castrol edge, or Shell equivalent fully synthetic.. I queried it and they said that was the current recommendation. I do have only 37000 miles and a vw extended warranty, all component.

Interesting that the washer for the oil plug is more expensive than the plug itself !!! Also, I was charged for 4 units of Castro Edge oil even though it says that the oil comes in 208L bulk container (5W30 208L).

You need to create a mixture in a 0.5L bottle of distilled water and G13 pink coolant in the ratio desired. Pull the dipstick and wipe on rag, Reinsert the dipstick, remove and wipe on rag, Continue until you have wiped enough on the rag to lower the level where the reduce oil level light does not come on.
